The G.E.H.U.
Conscious of the scattering and the isolation of unicistes homeopathic doctors and veterinarians in France at the time, Jean-Pierre Spilbauer (who was already working with a group of veterinarians) and Philippe Servais decided, at the beginning of the 80s, to create a association of doctors and veterinarians practicing homeopathy and make it a place of clinical exchange. A strong idea was to underlie the work done: to put to the test of daily clinical experience a finally solid and coherent doctrine, as proposed by Dr. Elizalde Masi in his teaching.
Thus was created, in July 1986, the GEHU, Study Group of Unicist Homeopathy.
Very quickly, many confreres joined this working group and brought their own experience. A single criterion for selecting members: to be an active participant and not a simple observer.
Over time and meetings, it became apparent that case study work could only be profitable if the theoretical and practical bases of all members were solid and identical. To deepen our art requires to know the basics, to refer to the clinic requires to practice. This is why the GEHU proposed, parallel to the meetings, to create a teaching to perfect the knowledge and the practice of some confreres wishing to join the group itself. This training cycle began in 1987 and continued for several years. The teaching team included J.P. Spilbauer, Ph. Servais, B. Heude, M. Ascher and C. Tremot. In the first year, the students were numerous.
Around 1988, an attempt to regroup the teaching of GEHU and other small training structures in the Paris region into a unified unicist school failed for reasons of “ego friction”, which disappointed especially JP Spilbauer at the origin of this idea. It was later taken over by the INHF-Paris (now unicist) with the success that we know.
During the years that followed and until today, the GEHU remained faithful to its purpose of departure. To broaden his reflection on the study of Medical Matter, it became necessary to open up to other knowledge and interdisciplinarity. Thus, they were invited to bring a psychoanalyst, a botanist, a Chinese medicine specialist, a Kabbalist, a symbolist, a phytotherapist and even an astrologer.
While remaining faithful to the doctrinal coherence of Dr. Elizalde Masi, we have, since the 1990s, developed our own method of research on Medical Matter, different from the approach of Elizalde Masi and AFADH. We have structured it around the tripod: medical matter, significant clinical cases and (first innovator) study of the strain itself remedies (to illuminate and make sense of the assumptions of work retained).
Homeopathy continues to evolve, our references have, over time, expanded to other authors or new researchers. To the rigorous inductive method defended by the GEHU, was added today a deductive method to which we opened ourselves without adhering blindly to it in view of its doctrinal fragility (“vital sensation” of R. Sankaran and Mendeleev’s painting of J. Scholten).
The work accomplished over the past twenty years has been immense and continues to be so. Increasing contacts exist today with other French and foreign research groups.
Let’s pay tribute to Jean-Marie Deschamps and Jean-Marie Krug who, ten years ago, created and enriched the site of the GEHU, gathering the notes and syntheses of our work and a data bank accessible to all (homeopathic doctors). ‘intends’, thus conceiving a formidable place of exchange.
After having managed and prospered for all these years, he has today passed the hand to Armelle who, for reasons of accessibility and technical needs, oversaw the overhaul and content integration.
